Some detail on the center backs.
The "hairy" thing is a place mat from the Dollar Tree, sprayed silver, and then applied with hot glue--the ring around is hot glue also, and will look better when painted, much like welding.
A tulip felt decoration from the Dollar Tree, cut up and about to be painted to be applied to the costume for decoration.

Robots, continued.
Here are a few update pictures from over the weekend. The costumes have finally started to come together in a recognizable way. From some trial and error, I have found that the best glue to use on the felt is plain old hot glue. The Beacon's Felt Glue that I bought does not work. I am sure that it will work for glueing sequins on felt, but not in an industrial application.
The Velcro is sewn onto the felt with an industrial sewing machine, and is rather strong. Amazingly enough, it does not pull apart easy. (these are the side seams of the chest armour)
