Dresden Plate

This is by far one of my favorite quilts, of the ones I've made. It was made of scraps from a bag that a friend gave me, the backing is just a homespun print. The centers of the plate were hand appliqued, while the edges of the plate are sewn by machine with that awesome buttonhole/blanket edge stitch (actually done on a machine I don't have anymore...)(I miss it a little). It is quilted with an all-over random stipple stitch. Looking back, I think that the stitch length may be a bit long, but, it works. I like it. This quilt is probably about 7 years old? And is used almost every day.

Mom pieced this one, a quick strip pieced--just showing the detail of the stipple, a bit smaller than the one above. (Quilted by me)
