Finally finished!

I haven't posted in a while, for the fact that I've been busy--I can't believe how busy. I have been working on show stuff, and these dresses for my client for her annual conference. But, they're finished, and now it's on to concentrating completely on the show, The Trojan Women (it techs tomorrow)
The first, a gray sheath dress, made from a changeable gray/black. The fabric is beautiful, but the more you work with it, the more wrinkled it gets. The iron is my friend. As we were designing the dresses, she was looking through my sketchbook for the show that we're doing now, The Trojan Women, and she loved the hanging sleeves that I had on some of the dresses, and wanted that incorporated into the design. We ended up with these sleeves, (which remind my students of manatees) with the shortest part being just above where her elbow bends, so that she can lift her hands up to clap, and the sleeve hangs down. The front view of the Queen Anne collar, which frames her face perfectly. This collar makes me very very happy!
The black walking dress is one of her staples, and this year, she wanted to have a jacket made to go over the dress I made last year--and this one has detachable cuffs and collar options! (And, yes, I should have made sure it was hanging straight on the form before I took the picture....)
And, now to my favorite--and hers. Her signature is the high collar in the back, and this one is expemplary.
Back of the collar--
And, a close up of the front collar, and the shop in the background.
